Lomilomi (Traditional HawaiianMassage)
is the ancient healing art of working body and mind to prevent and cure illness.
It is said that the physical manipulation of body tissue
allows the conscious intention and the subconscious to
meet and resolve.
What makes Lomi for Life different?
Lomi for Life offer Holistic Councelling, Swedish relaxation massage, Deep Tissue massage as well as our speciality Lomi Lomi massage.
David adds a personal touch to every massage.
No two experiences are the same, as each session is personised to meet your needs. Lomi for Life offers not only an outstanding massage service but a holistic healing process with both massage and counselling to promote whole body healing.
Lomi Lomi is well recognised for its full body healing prosperities Every emotion and every experience we have is retained in our body’s cells memory.
The ancient Hawaiians healers believed that guilt was a useless emotion, “it does no good for anyone”. Counselling therefore included forgiveness, conflict resolution, mental cleansing, self realignment and “putting things right” with oneself and others - Hoópono pono. How does this relate to modern psychology?
Carl Rogers, the highly respected counsellor and author of Client Centered Therapy, believed that when a person receives genuineness, acceptance and understanding they will discover the path to personal freedom and find their own way. Lomi For Life offers you massage and counselling with a traditional Hawaiian intent and a belief in your ability to find your own correct path to health and fulfillment. |
The Whole Experience LomiLomi as Psychotherapeutic Massage
Is a counselling process that allows you to explore your inner beliefs and feelings with the intention of resolution, reconciliation or new direction.
Confidentiality is ensured throughout the entire process, subject to legal considerations or specific requests by you, the client.
At all times the client’s best interests is the primary focus.
Strategies are developed to strive for recognizable results.
All stages of the psychotherapeutic process are discussed with the client and permission sought.
The relationship between client and counsellor is strictly a professional relationship and this must be respected by all parties all of the time.
The counsellor will endeavor to support their client in a variety of ways but will not undertake to control or advise, nor take on the client’s own responsibilities.
Full respect is appropriated to each client as an individual. No judgment is made and the client is assisted to find their correct path irrespective of beliefs, values or context.
It is sometimes appropriate to refer clients to other therapist or terminate the counselling relationship in deference to a different modality.
Massage is by nature tactile and personal respect is offered through the rituals, traditions and protocols demanded by the Hawaiian Elders, Masters of the Lomilomi. |

It is widely believed that the cells in the human body
retain the memory of every thought, every emotion and every experience.
From conception, every new cell has a purpose and a direction. It is assumed that our brain makes decisions and provides rational thought but where does our sub-conscious reside?
Is making change to our lives as simple as changing our mind or do we also have to address change at a cellular level?
The ancient Hawaiians healers believed that guilt was a useless emotion, “it does no good for anyone”.
Counselling therefore included forgiveness, conflict resolution, mental cleansing, self realignment and “putting things right” with oneself and others - Hoópono pono. |
